The Building Division is responsible for activities related to the construction, remodeling, and demolition of buildings and structures within the City of Willows. The Division works to ensure that all development meets applicable safety standards and complies with adopted City and State regulations.
Building Division Services
The Building Division provides a range of services to support safe, compliant development throughout the City of Willows. These services include permit processing, plan review, and construction inspections to ensure that all building projects meet applicable local and State regulations. The Division works closely with property owners, contractors, and developers to promote quality construction, protect public safety, and ensure adherence to the California Building Standards Codes, including structural, energy (Title 24), and green building (CALGreen) requirements.
Permits & Applications
Building permits are required for most construction, remodeling, additions, and structural alterations within the City of Willows. Permit applications and supporting documents must be submitted for review prior to beginning construction.
Typical permits include:

Plan Review
Plans submitted with a building permit application are reviewed to ensure compliance with applicable City and State building codes and regulations. Plan review helps ensure projects meet structural, safety, energy, and accessibility standards before construction begins.

Inspections
Building inspections are conducted Monday through Thursday.
To schedule an inspection, please call (530) 934-2465 at least 24 hours in advance.
Inspections help verify that construction is completed in accordance with approved plans and applicable building codes.
